WYKŁAD PROFESORA WIZYTUJĄCEGO ADOLFA SOTOCA

Katedra Urbanistyki i Architektury Struktur Miejskich A-9 Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej ma zaszczyt zaprosić na wykład profesora Adolfa Sotoca pt.: „Telling landscapes. Short stories for a shared narrative”, który odbędzie się 9 stycznia 2024 roku o godzinie 11:00 w sali P6 w Pałacu w Łobzowie przy ul. Podchorążych 1 w Krakowie.

Wykład odbędzie się w języku angielskim w ramach pobytu Adolfa Sotoca jako profesora wizytującego na Wydziale Architektury PK.

Chair of Urbanism and City Structure Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Cracow University of Technology is pleased to invite you to attend a lecture by Professor Adolf Sotoca that will take place on 9^th January 2024 at 11:00 in the P6 room at Podchorazych 1.

The lecture will be held in English during Professor Sotoca stay as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture, CUT.

Adolf Sotoca, urodzony w Barcelonie architekt i urbanista, swoją pasję do architektury i miasta realizuje poprzez badania, naukę i praktykę. Jest profesorem Serra Hunter w UPC BarcelonaTECH w Hiszpanii i dyrektorem CSArquitectes. Współpracował z kilkoma uczelniami wyższymi: był profesorem wizytującym w Illinois School of Architecture (USA) i PK Kraków (Polska), a także gościnnym profesorem NU Singapore, ETH Zürich, Berlage Institute Rotterdam, IUA di Venezia, Politecnico di Milano, TU Darmstadt i UAUIM Bucharest. Jest również członkiem zarządu kilku międzynarodowych instytucji zajmujących się edukacją urbanistyczną, takich jak International Forum of Urbanism oraz European Postgraduate Master of Urbanism. Badania prof. Sotoki koncentrują się obecnie na rewitalizacji przestarzałych i podupadających osiedli mieszkaniowych. Jest wiodącym badaczem w kilku projektach finansowanych przez Unię Europejską i Amerykę Łacińską oraz autorem wielu publikacji. Aktywnie uczestniczy jako panelista UN-Habitat oraz rozwija badania stosowane w programie URBACT. Adolf Sotoca był zapraszany jako wykładowca i prelegent na wiele międzynarodowych konferencji i wydarzeń. Wykładał w Europie, Azji i Ameryce.

Adolf Sotoca, born in Barcelona, is a PhD Architect & Urbanist. He displays his passion for architecture and the city in a wide range of fields, from research and teaching to practice. He is Professor Serra Hunter at UPC BarcelonaTECH in Spain and principal of CSArquitectes. He has been engaged with several higher education institutions: he has been Visiting Professor at the Illinois School of Architecture (USA) and at CTU Krakow (Poland), as well as Guest Professor at NU Singapore, ETH Zürich, Berlage Institute Rotterdam, IUA di Venezia, Politecnico di Milano, TU Darmstadt and UAUIM Bucharest. He is also board member of several international institutions on Urbanism education, such as the International Forum of Urbanism and the European Postgraduate Master of Urbanism. Prof. Sotoca’s research is currently focused on the regeneration of obsolete and declining residential areas. He is leading researcher of several EU & Latinamerican funded projects and author of a vast number of publications. He is actively participating as a panelist of UN-Habitat as well as developing applied research in the URBACT program. Adolf Sotoca has been invited to speak in a large number of international conferences and events. He has lectured in Europe, Asia and America.
