Architekt, absolwent Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Krakowskiej (2003). W latach 2004–2008 zdobywał doświadczenie zawodowe jako asystent projektanta w renomowanych biurach architektonicznych w Polsce, uczestnicząc w realizacji prestiżowych obiektów, m.in. Ergo Areny w Gdańsku oraz nagradzanych zespołów architektonicznych dla Krakowskiego Ogrodu Zoologicznego.
Posiada uprawnienia budowlane do projektowania w specjalności architektonicznej bez ograniczeń i jest członkiem Małopolskiej Okręgowej Izby Architektów RP. Od 2016 roku do dnia dzisiejszego jest współwłaścicielem biura projektowego Gierbienis + Poklewski.
Jest laureatem licznych nagród w konkursach architektonicznych krajowych i międzynarodowych. Do najważniejszych należą: II nagroda w międzynarodowym konkursie YAC za projekt „Pinocchio Children’s Library”, wyróżnienie w konkursie Rwanda Chapel oraz podwójna nagroda – pierwsza i BB Green Award – w konkursie „The Hospice: Home for the Terminally Ill” organizowanym przez Bee Breeders. Za projekt aquaparku w Kutnie został wyróżniony w konkursie Builder w kategorii Sportowy Obiekt Roku.
Jednak największym sukcesem zawodowym jest zrealizowany Budynek Edukacyjny w Leśnym Ogrodzie Botanicznym w Marszewie, który przyniósł liczne nagrody, w tym nominację do europejskiej nagrody Mies van der Rohe Award 2026.
Od 2017 roku jest zatrudniony na Politechnice Krakowskiej, gdzie prowadzi działalność dydaktyczną i badawczą oraz uczestniczy w projektach naukowo-wdrożeniowych realizowanych na zlecenie jednostek samorządu terytorialnego. Brał udział w opracowaniu Modelu Przestrzennej Struktury Krakowa, był współkoordynatorem koncepcji centrum komunikacyjnego miasta Hrubieszów oraz członkiem zespołu realizującego studia urbanistyczne dla starówki w Golubiu-Dobrzyniu. Obecnie uczestniczy w realizacji międzynarodowego grantu UE „Warding Ecosystem Commons through Action-Research & Education – WECARE”.
Dorobek naukowy obejmuje badania nad formą miasta, dostępnością pieszą, strefami ograniczonego ruchu kołowego, zagęszczeniem struktur zurbanizowanych oraz symulacjami ruchu pieszego w warunkach zagrożeń epidemiologicznych. Doświadczenie dydaktyczne obejmuje prowadzenie prac dyplomowych wielokrotnie nagradzanych w konkursach ogólnopolskich oraz opiekę nad kołem naukowym Urban Lab. Specjalizuje się w zrównoważonej urbanistyce, projektowaniu prośrodowiskowym oraz nowoczesnych konstrukcjach drewnianych, łącząc praktykę zawodową z działalnością naukowo-dydaktyczną.

Damian Poklewski-Koziełł

An architect, graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology (2003). Between 2004 and 2008, he gained professional experience as an assistant designer in renowned architectural offices in Poland, participating in the design and realization of prestigious projects, including the Ergo Arena in Gdańsk and award-winning architectural complexes for the Kraków Zoological Garden.
He holds an unrestricted professional license in architectural design and is a member of the Małopolska Regional Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland. Since 2016, he has been a co-owner of the architectural practice Gierbienis + Poklewski.
He is a recipient of numerous awards in national and international architectural competitions. The most significant distinctions include the Second Prize in the international YAC competition for the “Pinocchio Children’s Library” project, an Honourable Mention in the Rwanda Chapel competition, and a double award — First Prize and the BB Green Award — in the “The Hospice: Home for the Terminally Ill” competition organized by Bee Breeders. His design for the Kutno Aquapark received a distinction in the Builder magazine competition in the category Sports Facility of the Year.
His most significant professional achievement to date is the realized Educational Building at the Forest Botanical Garden in Marszewo, which received multiple awards, including a nomination for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2026.
Since 2017, he has been employed at the Cracow University of Technology, where he conducts teaching and research activities and participates in applied research and implementation projects commissioned by local government authorities. He contributed to the development of the Model of the Spatial Structure of Kraków, served as co-coordinator of the concept for the Hrubieszów transportation hub, and was a member of the team preparing urban studies for the historic town center of Golub-Dobrzyń. He is currently involved in the international EU-funded project “Warding Ecosystem Commons through Action-Research & Education – WECARE”.
His scientific work addresses urban form, pedestrian accessibility, car-restricted environments, urban density, and pedestrian movement simulations conducted under epidemiological threat conditions. His teaching experience includes supervising master’s and engineering theses that have received numerous national awards, as well as academic supervision of the Urban Lab student research group. He specializes in sustainable urbanism, environmentally responsible architectural design, and contemporary timber construction, combining professional practice with academic and research activities.
